Fanpage vs. website – what to choose?

Does Facebook fanpage can replace a website or e-commerce?

Website allows your business to exist in the network as well as Facebook fanpage. Today, Facebook is a perfect place to advertise your business. Thanks to it you can also keep regular and closer contact with your customers.

But the question is: does fanpage is certainly able to replace a website or online store? You will find it out by reading today’s post.

Fanpage vs. Website

We want everyone know our opinion at the beginning: in our opinion fanpage absolutely cannot replace a good website! Company sites on social media should be only an addition, not a primary tool for acquiring customers and make money.

Facebook has several advantages, however, they do not outweigh the advantages of having a website or e-commerce. Of course, Facebook will always be easier for us to handle (add new, short and concise posts, edit information, etc.) and therefore it should become a tool for closer contact with customers. This is the perfect solution to add some posts and photos and publishing it systematically, so our customers won’t forget about us. However, the site in the social media will always depend on the site, while the website is independent. You decide what will be on the site and how it will look (of course if it is in line with the law in force). Keep in mind that there are various tools on Facebook that can make our site suddenly disappear. Even through the actions of the competition and their regular “submissions for moderation” our account, spam markings, etc. A website can not be closed in this way.

When we have a website, we also have better access to analytical data. We can put different tracking codes on it to find out where our customers came from and what they did on the site. The analytical capabilities of Facebook are heavily truncated and give us only minimal knowledge of the effectiveness.

What’s more, the website gives us tremendous visibility opportunities on the web. A well-executed SEO campaign will attract many new customers. Unlike Facebook, when we have a website we can work on our positions in the whole network for very specific keywords.

Summary

Short summary of what we’ve written before: fanpage will not replace website or e-commerce. Facebook, for now, is a cool add-on and advertising tool.

So if you have been wondering what’s better, you already know the answer.
